Hello LWA Seekers of Greater Well-BEing!
Dr. Sulak here for a quick Meaningful Mindful Moment. OK, Dr. Waxman introduced me to a term that I don’t use: UNINSTALL. I asked him: Is that a real word? He said: YEP! We usually think of the term DELETE when referring to getting rid of programs on our computers, tablets, or phones, but he said the technical term is UNINSTALL.
I had to find out: Is uninstalling the same as deleting? Definition: Uninstall is removing a program and its associated files from a computer hard drive. The uninstall feature differs from the delete function in that it safely and efficiently removes all associated files, whereas delete only removes part of a program or selected file.
WHY am I, the non-techy, talking computer jargon? Because I’m thinking I need to do more UNINSTALLING, not just DELETING! There are programs that have been INSTALLED in my brain that need to be completely UNINSTALLED. Like the one that has a tendency to make me upset when things are not going my way. And for sure, the one that thinks my way is the way and those other people should use some common sense. SERIOUSLY! Yes, my Ego has some faulty programs that need to be eliminated.
What programs do you need to UNINSTALL? Maybe the one that says:
Unhealthy thinking leads to unhealthy emotions leads to unhealthy choices. Healthy positive thinking leads to healthy emotions leads to healthy actions, and outcomes. Wouldn’t it be great if we could UNINSTALL some of our negative, destructive thinking by simply pressing a few buttons? Not that simple, BUT it is possible. Some things that used to upset me, I now find amusing. Others that would make me angry now cause me to be a bit empathic at times, trying to understand where someone is “coming from” with their behaviors. I’m nowhere near where I want to BE, but Baby Steps lead to Giant Leaps.
How is it possible? IMMERSION into WELLNESS! All those wellness conferences, webinars, books, and podcasts along with daily readings and meditations have helped me UNINSTALL and DELETE some programs that were not serving me well. I’ve been able to INSTALL improved programs for greater health and happiness. The Good News: Jeff and I are loving the journey!. This isn’t painful. It’s joyful! That’s Living WELL Aware! It’s a journey, a life-time journey. THANKS for traveling with us!
