April 2025 Newsletter

April 25

QUESTIONS? / ANSWERS!

Hello LWA Seekers of Greater Well-BEing!

First off, a big Thank You to Baylor Scott & White Health Plan for conducting the hugely successful annual Women’s Health Event Show Yourself Some Love held April 26 in Temple. Some ladies traveled over 100 miles to attend. We are already planning next year’s bigger / better event. Details forthcoming in future LWA Newsletters.

And another big Thank You to BSWH Department of Nursing for having me as their 35th Annual Rockwell Nursing Lectureship keynote speaker this week. It was truly an honor to speak to one of my favorite audiences – NURSES! Our many hospitals, clinics, and schools can’t function without you. THANKS for all you do! My presentation focused on Making Personal Long-Term Health THE Priority: EVERYONE WINS! I detailed the 3 determinants of whether we do – or not:

  1. URGENCY of the Severity of NOT Doing So
  2. The COST: Our BS (Belief System)
  3. OWNERSHIP: Taking Personal Responsibility

I encourage you to read (or reread) my February 2025 Newsletter

There were many great questions I would like to share from the nurses in attendance at the lectureship. One nurse asked: How do you explain someone with terminal cancer who “did everything right?” What a great question. My answer: What does “everything right” mean? Each year, I think I’m doing “everything right” but then discover another scientifically proven strategy to lower inflammation (the root cause of disease), plummet STRESS (a huge toxin producer), improve physical / emotional / social well-being, create a greater spiritual connection. The possibilities are endless – and don’t cost tons of money and time, accessible to everyone “in the know.” The Big Question: Will we dump the SLBS (self-limiting belief system) and embrace the possibilities / opportunities. Again, READ the FEB 2025 Newsletter!

Another great question for one of the nurses (I’m paraphrasing): “Do you have strategies for dealing with unexpected, difficult, stressful situations that suddenly arise at work?” Answer: YES, I do! That’s what Living WELL Aware is all about. If we make Personal Health THE Priority (physically, emotionally, socially, financially, spiritually), then we have the strategies to deal with all those unexpected, unwanted life events. If we focus on BEing the best version we were created to BE, we turn obstacles into OPPORTUNITIES. Our coworkers, family, friends, patients, and students SEE US IN ACTION, taking life on with energy, peace, and joy. Whether it’s an emergent situation at work / school / home / the community, a relationship in turmoil, or unkind acts by others, the healthier we are, the better we feel about ourselves, the better we handle ANY situation.

Life happens – and will continue to happen. How will you SHOW UP? By Living WELL Aware, I can only promise you greater health, happiness, and abundance. THANKS for traveling life’s journey with us!
